are both lan connections activated ?
did you had tryed, to unplugg 1 cable in connection time ?

One has static IP (in local network) and other automatic. They have different MAC address. I think Wired connection 2 is one that works, since there writes used: now, and for wired connection 1 used: 1 day ago.

Good i have linux, i don't think i could solve this problem on windows.

connection 2 i-net has alway the same procedure, u need an adress where u connect 2, u need a connector, thats not diffferent in any system.

He's got a (hopefully) future professor of informatics next to him, who's internet works just fine. He's got a computer-local software bug at the hand, because his net worked with a live session of the very same CD he used to install his OS, and it worked before, then suddenly stopped working. We tried
Code:
sudo modprobe -r forcedeth;sudo modprobe forcedeth
, we also tried setting the network configuration to several settings, including the fixed IP (yes, I did tell router to expect fixed IP from his MAC address). In the end it worked out when we put a PCI Ethernet card into his computer. I assume the PCI card has connection, and that motherboard's integrated card isn't working. The funny part is that it worked with motherboard's integrated card before, and the PCI one was collecting dust and blocking air flow in the computer's casing, and when it was removed, the motherboard's one stopped working for a mysterious reason. :|

2 NIC's with the same IP on the same subnet: not a good idea
