Imagine joining the game, rushing towards opposing side, and finding yourself amidst shit like this:

From above (presumably that’s how the gods of Radeon saw this):

Of course I thought my Eagle file had gone bad, but Crossing for example also had quite a few oddities (and a freshly extracted UrT showed the same stuff, so it wasn’t caused by some borked custom map):

Right now, after reinstalling the drivers twice, everything appears normal — and I’m going to do whatever it takes to postpone the next restart. (About twenty times in the last two days already, one wants to use the damn thing:-/)

I remember I had great time with ATI Rage 128 and Radeon 9200, but Radeon x1600 was a peace of a sheet. That was the moment I switched to NVidia.

Right now I'm looking for a graphics card with decent performance, acceptable price and open-source drivers. :? Yes, I know, it's like waiting for a perfect girl/woman.

actually the blob nvidia linux drivers are pretty decent if you don't go with the latest cards, I made that mistake yet again and went for a GTX 560 and now either twinview or my 2nd screen in general is messed up but it just got supported in the latest beta driver =/

My last graphics card was a Radeon 9700 Pro (it lasted for 4 years). Actually I have a GF 8800GTS 640Mb. I think this has between 3 - 4 years.

I usually don't change gfx so fast. If it works I keep it for long time.

FU** ATI FU** LINUX FU** idontknowwhatelse..

Yeah new computer, decision: Radeon HD 2600 Pro or Radeon X1950 Pro (4x times faster, but unsupported by drivers)....
I am down. cant f****** install those drivers (trying like 12h and before i didnt even know i need 9.3 so +12h = 24h).. (NOT EVEN ON DEBIAN) (yea only on debian cuz Catalyst 9.3 needs Xserver < 1.6 FUUUUUUUUUU)

I am thinking to switching on 2600..

Next time get some Intel on-board card with some ancient chipset, the kernel might have some built in drivers...

OR, check your favorite OS's hardware compatibility list before buying stuff.
