Some buildings with theire ripped of plaster looked like Dresden'45 on tv, impressiv size of balls there hehe

Here hailstorms usually happen each few months, usually during the warmer half of the year and rarely during winter. Although, in most cases hail stones are only 2-3cm in diameter. But there is usually at least one hailstorm each year or two with hail stones the size of a chicken egg.

in fact any thunderstorm has such ice balls.

the warm air goes up through thermal reasons, cools out and freezes.
the frozen water forms balls around ~10 cm.
these fall down, smashing on upstreaming ice balls.
without that crashes there couldnt be a flash or thinderstorm at all.


they dont reach the ground normally cause such is happening always in warm atmosphere.

in southern germany theres such happenings very often (if u believe the insurances).
