You can parse the BSP file, entities are stored in plain text and you could count the spawns pretty easily.

Thanks, that was exactly one of my ideas (although BSP is in
binary ;-):

Code:
$ grep info_ut_spawn saloon_fixed_b1_converted.map | wc -l
38
$

Looks roughly correct. =)

Soon, little miezis, soon! :-)

I hope to have finished the list of (nearly) all maps I was evaluating (to a varying extent) by tonite. I'll post the link to the wiki page then.

Furthermore, I'm gonna try 3-4 new nice-looking maps on this weekend (incl. the one Crusher just posted).

I think the mapcycle update is near. :-)

{ EDIT: forgot "by tonite" }

Nice! I will have a look at the actual map voting code, so that this can be adjusted soon after Pirat has published his list in the wiki.

<quote source="Prof. Farnsworth">Good news everyone!</>

After having invested hours in making the absurdly modular and unusable DokuWiki displaying the maps the way I want, I experienced two things:

1) the Wiki is too underpowered to display 1 page with 233 map entries,

2) the Wiki syntax got so unnecessarily complex (due to DokuWiki restrictions), that no other person than me would be able to edit it.

Therefore, I'll try to code an extra frontend for the map list.

Updates as soon as I know what I'm doing. :-)

wiki/doku.php/maps If this is your wiki page it is really huge and complex and I can imagine that you are frustrated now. I'm just curious, of what kind of frontend do you thinking?

@UCF @wursti @XTJ7 About the map vote code: I checked the files today (I hope I found the right ones) and it seems like all necessary data is stored in the database. So the amount of votable regular (currently 10) and custom (currently 4) maps can be changed in a certain table as well as every map can be set as votable or not. BlinkY did a great job and it's easy adjustable, if I haven't missed something. Changing DB values should be all. But since I have no direct DB access somebody of you has to do that (when Pirat's list is done).

No, just as opposed to the wiki, the new frontend will be able to display all 233 map entries on one single page. :-P

(If there isn't some other arbitrary medieval technical limit, that is)
