Thanks a lot for the link. A still working live stream that even streams the audio where you can listen to the people and proclamations, thats really something.
I can only hope that something changes in Spain. I want to move there either this year or the next year. I don't worry so much about myself, because I am fortunate enough to have work, but one day I'm gonna have children and they should have a future there, along with all those other young people that are less fortunate than me. It is true that many changes that were about to happen (or at least promised to happen) would benefit these youths, but they are coming far too late and on a scale that isn't enough. 45% unemployment among the 18-25 years old folks is horrible - and that is mostly due to absolutely horrible politics.

I don't know all of the details myself, but what I know so far is: it is way too difficult and too expensive to fire people, which is why most young people can only get temporary jobs - nobody wants to hire permanently. And then there is the corruption, which still plays a major role even today. Corrupt politicians are still ruling, dozens and dozens of them, making politics that benefit major companies and the financial upper class, but causing problems for the young people.
Then their political system strongly benefits the existing political parties, the smaller ones have barely any influence, so creating a difference and working towards changes is quite a complicated task.

I wish those people all the best from the bottom of my heart. I hope they will be successful and I kind of regret that I'm not down there to join them.

but whats so wrong that they protest?

unemployment is 45% among young people.
old people rulez, the gap is more then 2 generations.

why things happened (global recession et al.) ist unimportant.
time for refresh structures, specially in those fast changing times.
punks go first, someone play the hippie guitar, throwing burning bottles complete the screnery.

what they call green revolution has the same topics.
its about generation change and corruption.
the additional thing in the arab world ist human rights. its the stronger topic, sure.

While some poets believe that police is here to protect the good people, their job is actually to follow the orders of their superiors (much like soldiers). And those superiors are usually to blame or hail.

<I did not watch the video as it doesn't work with gnash*>

*gnash is a free (and incomplete) reimplementation of flash. The main reason it is incomplete is because it is developed only by people who never used Adobe's flash and thus never agreed to it's license and thus to not reverse-engineer it. >_>
