So, for the zillionth time I tried gtkradiant. This time is seems to have actually compiled. However.... I tried compiling it several ways, scons always says it's done building targets after an epic amount of warnings about missing sentinels in function calls and suggested braces around empty 'else' body etc., I run install.py and it gives no errors nor warnings. Yes I put UrTPack into GtkRadiant/games like this: Code: natirips@nati-lap:/razno/igre/gtkradiant/src/GtkRadiant/games$ ls UrTPack/ game install natirips@nati-lap:/razno/igre/gtkradiant/src/GtkRadiant/games$ ls -R UrTPack/ UrTPack/: game install UrTPack/game: synapse.config UrTPack/install: q3ut4 UrTPack/install/q3ut4: common-spog.pk3 scripts UrTPack/install/q3ut4/scripts: common.shader entities.def urbanterror.def default_project.proj shaderlist.txt natirips@nati-lap:/razno/igre/gtkradiant/src/GtkRadiant/games$ And now when I start GtkRadiant I get splash screen with the following error message over it: Attachment: Prikaz_zaslona-Radiant - Runtime Error.png My yet-to-hopefully-be mapping UrT directory is /razno/igre/UrbanTerrorMap although it doesn't matter in this case I believe. Pressing yes or no does nothing but crash the program. Anyone any ideas? |

sorry i cannot help you with linux. but if you post your prob in the urt.net forums you will get help. if it is about helping others with mapping, the forum is worth gold. it is actually quite the opposite to what it is usually. |

i dont have any expirience with that under linux but can it be that u need to run it through "linux32" app? q3 serwer itself has that issue on 64bit *nix platforms... |

WTF I CANT POST Search Google for "gtkradiant installing game packs" omg now the post is here had this problem too, but cant remember how i fixed it if i find out again ill post here ahh go to the gtkradiant main directory and then enter the folder q3.game or create it Then put in a folder "q3ut4" and in this one the common-spog.pk3, entities.def and urbanterror.def, aswell as the shaderlist(but not sure if neccessary) Hm thats one part of the fix i think |

linux32 was to no avail. Complied it from scratch and everything under linux32 but still the same. Still researching Rylius' suggestion. If I don't solve it, I'll follow Steve's suggestion. |

Today I had a brilliant idea - to try the windows version of radiant in ReactOS (as my version of wine doesn't recognize .msi format). As expected, it booted completely on a virtual machine in less than 15 seconds, I opened up network places to copy the files from my host OS to it, and, guess what: the good old BSOD! In less than 30 seconds from powering on the machine, and less than 20 seconds from the BIOS era of startup. No M$ windows can beat that speed! Anyways, atm I'm compiling again, as I just deleted all the compiled versions of radiant a moment ago, and than read Rylius' edit. Edit: hmm, still the same, whether I put the mentioned q3.game into GtkRadiant/ or GtkRadiant/install/ |

sam wrote: mmmh... virtualbox + tinyxp I simply refuse Microsoft. I've thrown to much of my time and nerves into it in my life. I don't want to experience that frustration again. Last time I tried installing Windows it resulted in a BSOD after each boot, because explorer.exe and some others caused some access violation. And the time before that one, it managed to pick up some spyware before I could install a firewall (no, I did not tell it to connect to net at all, yes it was behind a router, no I did not install any other software prior to installing a firewall from a CD). Silly me to have forgotten to unplug the network cable. And even when I use Windows that someone else has installed, I typically get a BSOD in 10-15 min, even though it was that the owners of those computers just seen BSOD for the first time in their lives.I obviously have trouble with ReactOS, and my Wine drops an error about svchost.exe crashing each time I boot my Ubuntu. I guess I'm just an anti-talent for Windows and the likes. And I was getting along so well with DOS... |

Atm I have ReactOS, Syllable and a no-disk LiveCD-testing machines in VirtualBox, and I add and remove them all the time. I have no problems with VBox, I have problems with WinNT architecture. My brain simply ain't compatible with it...
