Another loader, this time for Mac. Haven't tried it, for obvious reasons. There are also few commercial demo playing programs available that understand a variety of formats, but these you have to, you know, pay for. (Google for "demo playing" with your favorite game's name if interested.)

What the censored expletive, two posts before breakfast already…

Just noticed that if you organize your demos in folders, launching any of them from its subfolder means that UrT Demo Loader copies it to the top-level folder. I take it's a feature, not a bug, but it could get irritating. Would be nice to have symlinks on Windows…

Real men eat symlinks dipped in ground glass. Grow a pair. :P

I haven't got I faintest clue as to how to interpret that, but I had some bad experiences with symlinks (i.e. a stupid program deleting target file instead of the symlink, recursive lockups, copying link instead of the target file*, etc.)

*Just like Windows n00bs that said how they copied 200 games to a floppy, and then it turns out that the floppy has but a bunch of .lnk files on it...

Symlinks are fine, it's just a matter of PEBKAC :)

Just trolling. I'm not a “real man”, but my experience with symlinks has been pleasant one so far; great way to organize shit that you don't want to rename (in my case, files about camouflage patterns from all over teh intarnet).

And: PEBKAC :)

Then teach me a quick and painless alternative to right_click->properties on a folder icon.

Not to mention when I once tried backing up ~/.wine and it eneded up copying entire HDD recursively over and over until I noticed that there's a symlink to my root in there.

To what ? A "click" ? Sorry I don't see the link between symlinks and right clicks...

From TFM of cp :
Code:
       -P, --no-dereference
              never follow symbolic links

PEBKAC as I said ;)

I still dont know if u are using windows or linux, so which one?
If linux i could make script that suit you :) with my Uber Scripting skillz :D

Yeah my script is not pretty if it crash when the Urt is launched and the symlink wont be removed.. but maybe calling again the script on same directory will delete it.

When I want to check the size of a folder, if there is a recursive symlink in it it'll keep on counting indefinitely.

So how exactly do I pass "-P" to drag and drop command in Thunar?

Oh, and I do know how to use cp when it doesn't go with mouse, but I'm a lazy person who likes to click rather than type sometimes.

gui guy = gay (sorry just a joke :))
Thunar dev should think about such, just report them (and pray for hoping they are not like FS developers, years to write a list of bugs to fix and going backward with closed source engine =)
