hm i dont have an mx1000.
i used to use logitech mose man (8,--) usb version.

after anas MX1000 fucked up i bought her a MX518.
But she screamed and whined and threatened me with love withdrawal.
so i opened (fucking complicated) and added some static wires where the "MiniMainboard" was broken (yes, she uses to smash it).
luckily it was the part where the battery charging take place, so i didnt have to handle HF issues or 100-Legged IC´s.

after she didnt want the laser mouse i took it.
what to say? since im working now i dont have so much time to play.
i needed half a year till i got used to it.
i still hate the turbo techno leoparde metallic look, it makes me feel like one for these tuning gamers.

you can disable mouse acceleration ;)

/cl_mouseaccel 0

also try the OS's mouse control panel to disable it overall

Yes I know about mouseaccel, in fact I kept the value (0.1, very low...), but sometimes it looks like hardware acceleration, I mean before mouse position data comes to the driver it's already accelerated a bit... or maybe my old mouse had negative accel due to crappy sensor, I will never know...
I will try different settings on windows, because I don't have any mouse control panel on linux ;)

@wurst : she smashed the mouse ?!! What happened, she was playing crossing ? =)

What desktop environment/window manager on Earth are you using? I know for sure there are mouse speed and accel. options in gnome (System->Settings->Mouse or so). And in xfce there is Xfce_menu->Settings->Mouse. I'm not sure about KDE, but I'm sure it has also... Don't tell me you're not using X or anything like that... :|

I use X of course because I play UrT ;)
I'm on fluxbox. The only way I set the speed/accel is by using 'xset m', but Q3 seems to bypass X when retrieving mouse data, so it has no impact on the game, whatever the in_mouse is (I use -1).

Then try opening up your mouse, removing the controller chip, reprogram it, replace it and voila.

Actually, I theoretically could reprogram chips if I had their documentation (and if I had enough will).
