Me? I used translate.google.com so I understood most of it.

@Ana: you either have a virus, or the error might be in all FF versions (or at least last N versions), it could be a strange bug in your network drivers (try downloading the image on a computer where it works, and copy it to your computer via USB flash, then open in FF via File->Open), or something I can't think of right now.

I now compared both JPEG files I got from Ana with a hex editor, both have exactly the same size and are similar, but 4 bytes differ.

hey, which two files?
as far as i understood ana, these images allready exist for a longer time (obviously in a web shop).
all was clear till the errors started last days.
u say that the file from backup and the file from web differ, is that true?
hm where just this 2 files came from...

jes Samtron compared the broken image with the (same) image that he can load from the net. ill post the version with no errors up in first post, if someone cant sleep cause this problem and wanna digg further:)

this response does not answer my question, you dont state what you claim you understood. ("most" simply does not do.)
impression might be: you understood nothing at all.

whatever, hf.

Honestly, I forgot by now, so I'll check it up from begining.

The first paragraph tells something about a virus, but I haven't got a faintest clue to where is the head and the tail of (the) sentence(s).

The second paragraph is clearer than the sun: an error in network transmission that is not being detected, these do happen, although rarely.

The third paragraph tells about network quality, and that it would be a good clue if we knew whether this problem occurs with other images too.

The fourth paragraph tells it could be a virus (although unlikely "as explained above"). And that is could be a graphical error, or even an error in encoding (which may not've happened on the same computer that hosts the image).

The fifth paragraph tells that is could've been the camera's fault.

And the sixth says that maybe we should ask someone who knows (better/more) about it.

OK, you can laugh now. ;)

here is an explanation plus additions as you are handicapped since german is not your mother tongue and you'd hardly understand it 1-to-1 as already seen.

sure you understood all this:

Quote:
virus would have been detected by several people already, so that is by far the most unlikely option.

interleaving [through the way it it works, sending security bits every-so-often, can not capture all errors].
exceptions can happen in rare cases with an even number of bits being changed still returns the same security bit. but due to the network quality nowadays this is also most certainly not problem, as this would not happen with several images. especially when you get very similar errors in all the pictures.[in the thread was already mentioned it happened with several image files.]
[for other security techniques in charge and their weaknesses that could be questioned] we'd have to ask zorn [because he knows the most by far on about these things].

with it not being caused by a virus, not happening because of network errors, this leaves the pc's on which the picture is hosted or where it was formatted.

but maybe the cam was broken, or something directly related to the cam. [also unlikely as the pics would way more distorted then.]

(now lets ask somebody with a better idea about it all.[than what was already mentioned].)

no virus, not network errors or other directly related bullshit.
... but i am sure you understood all this, err the most of it. especially with your good reading ability.

now go pull someone else's leg that is smarter than me... HAHA.

Actually, I understood more than I think you think I did, or something like that. After all, I'm _supposed_ to become a prof. of informatics in a few years. ;)

assumption to prove:
right(you) ^ not.right(me) --> peaceful(me)
with premises:
1. right(you) --> quiet(you)
2. quiet(you) --> peaceful(me)

Quote:
| 1. right(you) --> quiet(you)
| 2. quiet(you) --> peaceful(me)

| 7. (right(you) ^ not.right(me)) --> peaceful(me) ## -->INTRO 3-6

if you dont get the idea, get back your tuition fee's...
