Its USB mouse, but i think it is optimized as it can be :D Anyway my motto is "Have fun without cheaters" so fun and keyboard (i need keyboard to write "!ban cheater cheat") is all i need.

When I'll have money I'll probably buy some Logitech mouse (maybe g5). Then I'll read this again. :D

hm but u can at least de-activate mouse acceleration.
its allways the same: u think u didnt hit cause u were to excited. wrong: u moved just faster then usual.
:D
and je when ure there in mouse settings: put the speed slider in the middle.
steves test with the paint rly works. and after, try specially with g36 to aim a pixel.
its possible, the croshair wont "jump" around the little head anylonger.

here a screen of that, sry for the bad english of my windoof:

sure changing os default mouse setting is kinda hax.
but in fact there cant be any wrong in lower latency or adapt the peripherial devices better to their environment.

im btw no big fan of methodological enhancment (some may call this tuning)
it seems to be a suffering of our timeage to just go faster, trying to cover the lack of orientation by that behaviour.
when i see all that nuclear equipped playorz, hmhm...

nah, maybe im just getting old

I have Linux anyways... But if i "disable" mouse acceleration then i can't move my mouse over my desktop.... It's too slow.... But it's not i want to tune it up, it think its good enough... If i want i can shoot your left ear.... If you are standing on same place

linux is different.... no mouseaccel is just as important in windows, on other operating systems you have to set your mouse as responsive as you can, and play in urt with cl_mouseaccel 0... updated first post with that.

gonna have a look... raziel did some nice tutorials, it was him that got my attention for the 120fp/120hz/vsync 1 thingy for example...

€dit:
"In the end I dare to say that players that play defensive, are ppl that usually compensate for bad aim, OR high ping.
Many may play succesful that way, good for them. But they won't ever stand a real chance when it comes to outaim
someone, skillfully. ... spam of nades ... [is] ruining for playing this game at a high skillful level."

yeah, that pretty much sums up what i have on my mind on abbey. that text is from the sensitivity.txt of him.

his stuff is pretty nice, he has got some things for further tweaking your hardware, to get more fps.
als he has another setup tool for windows, that lets you modify the windows accel itself much much more accurately. when pointer precision 1 is to much and 0 is too less... give it a shot if you want.

he also has some aim demos of him, and more important, some on the subject of tracking... there u can kind of see the difference, and that is what i wanted to make a demo for. though he does it just short distance, you may get the idea.

in urt you need lower sens, so try the tracking for much bigger distances. because hitboxes are WAY smaller and distances are much farer... urt suffers from having maps that are much too open. dicks is a raw example where you have indoor fighting, and casa where the layout makes for less long-distance but "longer-mid-distance" play by design... always possible to go out there with a shottie and still be successful.

I only skimmed through your lengthy post, and what I learned was - lower that mousespeed!

OK, I did, good thing I can switch dpi on my mouse. I lowered it from 3'200 (still use this for jumpmaps) to 1'300 currently (takes me about 11cm for a threesixty, less than 4cm with my old setting). I'm not yet playing better, but I can feel it - much better aim when in a rush and on long distances! Will keep to try playing with this, so be nice. :D

Apropos zoom on mousewheel, ("offtopic:" I play on numpad so I zoom w/ plus/minus keys), I hold the mouse like this: thumb at the side, index finger on the right button (I'm left handed so it's just left-right reversed for right-handed people), middle finger on the wheel, ring finger on the left mouse button and the pinky at the side of the mouse.

The point? I don't use index finger for mwheel* so there's no lag in using it.

P.S.: I read most of your text, although I got bored somewhere after the half of it, so I just skimmed the rest.

P.P.S.: Glad you're having fun... :)

i tried to cover ALL things related to a mouse. can only dig the greatness of this text when oneself really occupies with it. =P

middle finger for wheel is something i tried but never managed to work out...
