Increasing gamma sucks, it makes the game look horrible and is somewhat like cheating I play with default gamma settings |

Is gamma the same as Brightness in UrT system preferences? If not, where can I find it, and what is the effect? |

lol I play with max. brightness because otherwise I can't tell red apart of blue players. Even like this I often shoot at my teammates and not shoot at the enemy because I can't really tell red and blue apart to well. If I turn the brightness to default, I can't even see where I'm walking... |

Same for me, I play with high brightness and have some problem to distinguish red from blue, especially in some maps like coconut... I use crappy built-in laptop monitor, than's probably the reason :/ Samtron wrote: Is gamma the same as Brightness in UrT system preferences? If not, where can I find it, and what is the effect? I think it's the same thing. You can change the gamma by r_gamma too. |

Hmmm strange... I also play with my built in notebook-LCD from ASUS (not very bright, bad quality and more than two years old) and for me brightness at 25% is really okay. I don't have problems to distiguish between red and blue, but some maps are relativly dark (especially Dicks)... I thought there was a hidden gamma hack with an effect like goggles or so... |

Actually, I think I'm becoming a daltonist after all these years of staring at the screen (since before elementary school). I found that in coconut beta I can't see almost anything except my crosshair with default brightness. All I see is the there is some scenery, but what it is.... Although I could move around the tunnel properly. |

Lol, you all play on laptops. So i maybe have advantage of "normal" PC? I see red and blue nearly perfectly, and i have gamma at quite high. It's too dark with default gamma. |
