Hi,
I used to play quite a lot on the Wurst TDM server, but recently I haven't been able to connect. This started a few months ago I think, can't be sure.
Could an admin check if the IP address associated with host rkaw.pl (this is where I'm connecting from) is being blocked on a firewall? The last hop that I'm able to reach is v3-rt01.boe.aixit.net. I can use this website just fine, so it looks like just UDP and ICMP from me to the game servers is blocked? Or maybe it's a whole ISP range? O.o
I'd appreciate any help getting to connect. I can't use a tunnel as the latencies would get me killed in game

Hmm.. I have the same problem. Not sure what when happened but last sunday i was able to connect and today I cant. It just waits in 'awaiting connection', piling up the seconds that I'm waiting. =/ Could you check this for me Wurst?

Edit: btw it is just the tdm i cant connect to. Weird.

There seem to be less people than ever now... I bet it has something to do with the school term just started :P
By the way, how does the image in the signature know my nickname? Does it just assume that a player with my IP address is me?

I think it's both IP and forumaccount linked. Not sure though cause all i know about computers is how to use the mouse, heheh, but ye your forumaccount is matched to your ip, so when you join the game it updates which nickname your ip/account uses, and when you go back to the forum you will see that.

Now if I only knew why I cant connect to the tdm anymore..

Well it uses ip but not only ip. If you played on server and then connected to forum (or other way around) with same ip database connects you. Then i tremembers your stats and special key, so they become linked with forum account. it checks ip now and then, but no longer needs it.

Oh, I see. So if I join the game and the forum, B3 associates my GUID (sent by the UrT client) with the forum account by finding a match between client IP addresses. So basically if, say, someone else from my IP address makes a forum account, they should get the same association.
Still, it's a neat system you guys have there. Gets screwed by NAT, variable addresses and such, but the idea is a noble one.

Actually, it works just fine with dynamic IPs. As for NAT (i.e. two people playing behind the same ADSL router like me and my brother AimMe), there is a way of locking in-game account with forum account. Although, if one of them gets banned, both get banned (and if the cheater with dynamic IP comes back the whole ISP might get banned).

That is why some people (like you for example) cannot connect for seemingly mysterious reasons.
