I have never seen this before, but I think someone can explain it to me. Look at the demo, all players all bright-blue (better visible), the gun is not visible and he has a really good score (and he is camping).

Is it a cheat or just a weird config?

It's the famous spectator bug : when you go spect, you are in free look mode. If you /follow someone without having clicked first (ie specting someone in normal or third person view) you get some bugs : no weapon nor crosshair, and if the player is using tac you get these blue models instead of green screen.
Magao once banned macko because of that :) Don't worry it's "legal" ;)

on a completely other sidenote: it is impossible to view the Urban Terror environment based on another player's config, not even when u are viewing a demo made by someone else; you will always see the surroundings according to the settings in your own config file

Yep, but UrT is limited in config, so there can't be big differences (like 360 of 45 fov) only minor ones (fov 75-110?, different position of stats, map, timers etc) which can't affect gameplay a lot, only maybe size of screen and sound, but that's more hardware and OS settings than UrT.

The only thing which remains unexplained for me is this demo lamas-corner/q-k-two-bastard-brothers-cheeted-t995.html where the aimbotter rolls when he moves. I thought it was due to some cg_roll/bob/pitch parameter but if it were the case we shouldn't be able to see these movements on the demo...
