Hi Frendz.
I wanted to upload a new map on this server. I want to make my own map. I will need all ur guidance since i come from commercial background ;) , not having much technical knowledge. I will surely visit the links posted by Steve McQueen. I will contact with u once my exams are over in mid November. :D

hey come to irc, i wanna make a map, too!
Here the urbanmappers channel, but better to search in google #urbanmappers. the icr.netsplit... adress is the best. here one custom adress: join#urbanmappers channel IRC
maybe we can work together. or come in mumble @ afternoon in german/european time :D

I cant speak German. :cry:

i will try to connect during time specified by u, since i have to look after my job too.

I will enter mumble as and when i get time.

One more thing. U told something about the Beta version of the map. I dont know how to make it, since i come from a commercial and not from technical background. I can provide designs of the maps, but u people will have to work on it a bit. :D

How u guys design a map ? Its such a long process and a bit complicated. I downloaded a map maker, extracted the files with winzip, ran the setup and installed the same. got 4 different folders to make textures, an alpha map with gridlines, a bsp editor, and BLAH BLAH BLAH.....

I tried to make some stuff with alpha maker but dindnt succeed. Then i thought of making the outlay of the map with adobe photoshop and image ready and still working on it. I think it will be completed in a day or two. Then i will upload the file so that u can do the needful.

I downloaded the GTK Radiant and its working fine. I have started making a test map by reading various links. It will take some time to get acquainted with the software, but i will make a map one day, thats for sure.

did you set up the radiant for making q3 maps of for q3ut4 especially? with using the urbanterror.def and all that stuff?

Got my Radient set up aswell, I've made lots of multiplayer maps before, however I struggle with the controls in this Radient programme.

Everything seems so bulky, but I will persevere, the first thing I made was two rooms with a connecting hollow "doorway" however I even managed to **** that up and made the map leak! :D

try changing the color profile?

that is among the first things i do change when i set up my radiant. i prefer the pre-defiined "maya" profile...
