Upper case would solve this, because admin can stop vote. And votemap is sometimes good for maps which still aren't in default map list.

u mean when typing the vote directly into the console... like:


/callvote map ut4_blabla ..... for mapchange
or
/callvote g_nextmap ut4_blabla ..... for nextmap voting

should be the commands IIRC

I more mean on typing !paveto and !pavote to b3.

But that's not bad idea..... Actually very good idea :D

A big problem there: U cannot ban forever a cheater, cause he can change his IP, so IP ban is no effective. U can, of course, ban all the proxy, but hundreds of innocent users may be banned, and thats not worst: Cheater may change another time...

So if u cannot ban by IP, and is not a good idea to abn IP ranges...

What to do?

maybe banning by ranges, if infidel people are r fucked remove the ban after a week.... sadly there is no other way yet, as urt is lacking a valuable cheat protection.

I think good protection would be possible with fixed names. So if you had one name with which you register somewhere (maybe on UtR official page), so you can't play without registering. Then we could use name ban.

BUT here other problems would appear, like account stealing, and it would be more complicated.

such a system is already in the works by some people related to the frozen sands dev team IIRC.

but as there wasnt too much to hear about it, sadly i guess it'll stop before it took off...
it would be the only solution aside from iprangebans, as there isnt a cdkey check....

And what about an encripted cookie ban? Can we put a cookie into cheaters folder, for example?. So UT checks if u are banned or not in order to gain access to the server...

Is an intrusive method, i know, and it requires a code reestructuration, but could be a nice method.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that the server can manipulate files on your system (at least not w/o using bugs/exploits)

So you want to say that game has some list of servers where player is banned, and checks it when player tries to join server?
Nice idea, but still no perfect. When something is on your PC you can edit it. It should be encripted, hidden, and packed (in one of those .pak).
