when I was mod I could use !wc with level 40, if I am not mistaken :)

I believe I stated this somewhere above, but can't blame you for no reading some n00b's posts :D , I've never used PHP so far. And yes, whenever I hear about php, it's only <?php... so I got a feeling it's html-ish. Sorry that I've never peeked into any php code.

php (the parser) executed code has to be enclosed between <?php and ?>, sux huh? ^^

and yes, I didn't know that, when I last tried !wc it was lvl 80+ or 100+, never tried it again and no one told me ;(

Whoever codes with PHP like this deserves a !slap 100. Put <?php at the beginning and ?> at the end of the PHP file, that's how you use PHP. :*P :*)

Since PHP 5, the object oriented handling is quite usable, I use it a lot now, very practical!

Full ACK!

Yeah, but they had different concepts in mind. PHP was a toolset for webdevelopers, never intending anything else than enhancing a webdesigners possibilities. Perl was originally used for *nix based systems for text manipulation it was a language for simplifying system tasks for administrators, batch tasks etc. and only later became popular as a web language. However, after PHP released version 3 it only started to become the PHP as we know it today, it was (aside of any OOP and many common language constructs) a pretty usable, easy and rather fast language. The main thing it was better in was however: It was easier to develop web apps with PHP and in most cases no chmodding was needed, PHP files were no longer executed like Perl files but read by the parser, so they only needed to be readable like any other web file as well. It's simplicity was the secret to success, so it became THE mainstream server-sided web language on the net. Today you still use perl for it's original purpose and many continue to use it for dynamic websites, but PHP and Python are much better suited in most situations for that task.

Sorry, became rather long, maybe you should've visited Wikipedia instead I'm sure they have some explanation that's better or something :D

Everything I've searched is here !!!
Thanks Aime for the nice tutorial, makes things much easier !!!

Well this forum is so enormous to read, I didn't notice your tutorial yet. So sorrry :?
Perhaps it could automaticly be sent to the next new mods.

So now I have to modify my behavior

When I play :
not spawn kill for instance, sometimes I do it on "crossing" map
when I spec :
talk to people with problems

Now one technical and stupid question :
when I am in console and type /playerlist, I can only read the last part of it.
The players list scrolls so fast on my screen that I can't read it all !!!

I'm sure the answer is on Wikipedia, but how can I stop the scrolling of the players' list ?

Nice idea, at least we could send them the link.

Hehe it's so tempting to spawn kill on crossing, the map has been designed to allow it after all :)

You can scroll with page up/page down and with mousewheel if configured (and if you don't use a one-button mac mouse =)

The Mac mouse does have a scrollball! (note ball not just wheel, all directions possible)
